Social Media Intern
As a marketing intern for ReelHeART International Film and Screenplay Festival, I owned the organization’s social media presence during the critical lead-up to its annual event, developing and executing a digital strategy that grew audience engagement and expanded the festival’s visibility across platforms.
Social Media & Content Strategy
I managed end-to-end content creation and scheduling across Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter, producing platform-tailored posts that spotlighted featured films, directors, and event announcements. By establishing a consistent publishing cadence and adapting tone and format to each platform’s audience, I helped strengthen the festival’s online community and extend its reach to new viewers and filmmakers discovering ReelHeART for the first time.
Analytics & Optimization
Performance didn’t stop at publishing. I tracked and analyzed engagement metrics across all platforms, using those insights to continuously refine the content strategy, adjusting timing, format, and messaging based on what the data revealed. This iterative, analytics-driven approach led to measurably stronger audience interaction over the course of the campaign.
Broader Contributions
Beyond social media, I contributed to blog updates and promotional campaigns that supported the festival’s wider marketing efforts, gaining experience working across multiple content channels simultaneously within a fast-moving, internationally focused organization.
Takeaway
This internship deepened my expertise in social media management, content strategy, and performance analytics, while giving me firsthand experience in the unique demands of marketing a cultural event on an international stage, where storytelling, timing, and audience connection all have to work together seamlessly.
